Men's Volleyball Goes 1-2 at Bard Tournament
Falls to Bard and Sage; Defeats Purchase
ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY - The NYU-Poly men's volleyball team ended up in 4th place out of six teams at the Bard Tournament on Saturday. The Jays ended up 1-2, as they fell to Bard 3-0 and Sage 3-0, while beating Purchase 3-0.
Friday night, the Jays fell in the opening match to the hosts 25-10, 25-15, and 25-16. In the second match, the Jays upended Purchase by scores of 25-15, 25-18, 25-12. That put them in second place in their pool. In the other pool of three teams Mount Ida finished first (2-0), Sage second (1-1) and Medgar Evers third (0-2).
The Jays ended up playing Skyline Conference member Sage today and fell in three straight by scores of 25-22, 25-18, 25-21. NYU-Poly is now 3-10 on the season, while Sage improved to 6-7. Senior James Lukban (Bronx, NY) was named to the All-Tournament team.
The Jays will be back in action on Sunday competing at Yeshiva University in a Skyline Conference Quad match featuring Bard, Sage and the hosts from Yeshiva.
