Jays can't evade Bobcats second half run, fall 3-0

Radnor, PA -  For 63 minutes, the Fighting Blue Jays men's soccer team put forth a determined effort, trailing just 1-0 to a senior and junior-laden Frostburg State squad.  But, a five minute span, was all that experienced side needed. The Bobcats scored twice to grab a 3-0 lead and held off NYU-Poly down the stretch, picking up the win in the Cabrini Soccer Festival Consolation Game.

The Jays started seven freshmen in this, the first-ever meeting between the two schools. NYU-Poly falls to 0-2 on the season, but returns home for a non-conference match against College of Staten Island on Wednesday.

Sean Jones netted a pair of goals (4' and 68') and Michael Bistany tallied an unassisted score (64') to give the Bobcats their second victory (2-1) of the season. NYU-Poly's best chance came in the 70th minute when freshmen forward Jorge Fraga (Burke, VA / Lake Braddock Secondary) found senior Diego Schwartz (Queens/ NY, Forest Hills HS) all alone on the right side of the box. But, his shot sailed wide.  Frostburg State outshot Poly 19-5 for the match and held a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks. Freshmen Uriel Moreira (West Palm Beach, FL / Forrest Hill HS) made three saves for Poly, while Stephen Cavallo stooped two shots for the Bobcats.
