This Indian-American Couple Donated $100 Mn to New York University

NEW YORK: Chandrika Tandon, 61, quotes Sanskrit verses while explaining to NDTV her and her husband, Ranjan Tandon's decision to donate $100 million, or Rs. 650 crores, to New York University this week.
Believed to be the largest philanthropic contribution made by Indian-Americans, the NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering will be renamed the NYU Tandon School of Engineering.
"Our tradition teaches us to give back. You can't take it with you... we are here to serve. This will have a ripple effect beyond one individual school, generations of students will benefit," says Ms Tandon.
