Heat and Humidity Bring Tropical Rainforest Conditions to NYC
Assistant Professor Anamika Shreevastava explained that NYC’s current humidity levels, comparable to the Amazon rainforest, are preventing New Yorkers from cooling themselves through sweating: "We can locally reduce temperatures, but it's a much harder challenge to combat humidity."
