Harvard is asking corporations to fill its federal funding gap

Juan de Pablo, NYU Executive Vice President for Global Science and Technology and Executive Dean of the NYU Tandon, is among several university leaders commenting on their institutions' efforts to tap into private funding sources after the Trump administration cut many federal research grants. He noted that NYU "has partnerships with big companies, including Meta Platforms, Google and Microsoft, and is working to secure others" with about 5 percent of research funds from the private sector. These efforts align NYU with its peer institutions, who are more assertively courting tech and pharmaceutical companies to support new and ongoing research.
