Free initiative helps Brooklyn kids learn about STEM careers
Ben Esner is director of the Center for K12 Stem Education at NYU Tandon.
Hundreds of middle and high school students from across the city gathered at NYU Tandon in Downtown Brooklyn for their STEMnow initiative. The free program helps kids explore areas like smart cities, robotics, cybersecurity, wireless technology, and artificial intelligence. At Friday's event the students showed off their final projects. Ben Esner from the NYU Tandon School of Engineering says “One of the things that we try to demonstrate always through these programs is that engineering and technology, and science are, yes, technical fields, but they're also very, very creative fields."
