Clean Energy Connections Presents its Climate Week NYC Event, “The Energy Water Nexus”

Solar One and the New York City Accelerator for a Clean and Renewable Economy (NYC ACRE) at Polytechnic Institute of New York University announce The Energy Water Nexus, their event for Climate Week NYC 2011. The fourth event of Solar One’s and NYC ACRE’s discussion series and online forum Clean Energy Connections, The Energy-Water Nexus will bring together policy thinkers, industry leaders and innovators to engage on how to responsibly maintain the relationship of energy and water for generations to come.

A featured event of Climate Week NYC, The Energy Water Nexus will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2011, 7:00-9:00 PM at the Jerome L. Greene Performance Space, 44 Charlton Street (at Varick Street), New York.

“For centuries, water has played a necessary role in the creation, distribution, and consumption of energy", said Rupert Posner, Global Director of Energy for the Climate Group and the event's opening speaker. "As water resources grow scarcer while we simultaneously move into a new clean energy economy, an examination of that relationship is more vital than ever".

The public is invited to join the discussion on how advanced management practices and technology innovations are ensuring that water resources are used responsibly in this rapidly changing energy age. Questions for the panelists and comments can be submitted via Twitter @CleanECNYC #CleanNRGx.

Clean Energy Connections brings together professionals, policymakers, investors and academia to explore major topics shaping New York City’s blossoming cleantech industry, and it provides an expert forum to share best practices and new inspirations. Previous panel topics included investment opportunities in wind and solar and energy efficiency in the information age.
