Time Magazine has named Traumagel, a plant-based gel physicians and first responders can apply to wounds through a prefilled syringe that forms a mechanical barrier to quickly stop even severe bleeding and enable clotting, as one of the Best Inventions of 2025. Compared to “old-fashioned” methods like stuffing gauze into a wound, applying pressure, or using tourniquets, CEO, co-founder and inventor Joe Landolina (‘14) says the gel “simplifies the process drastically.”
