Baseball Splits With St. Joseph's - Brooklyn

Albers PIcks Up First Collegiate Win


BROOKLYN, NY - The NYU-Poly baseball team earned a split against St. Joseph's College - Brooklyn in a non-conference double-header Saturday.

The Jays walked off with a 4-3 victory in game one, as sophomore Anthony Finch (New York, NY) smacked a game-winning double that drove in senior Jeff Burdier (Ozone Park, NY).

Freshmen Nate Albers (Burbank, CA) earned his first collegiate win, pitching seven strong innings and allowing two earned runs on six hits. He struck out four and walked two.

Burdier and Finch, along with sophomore Sal Devito (Pequannock, NJ) each had two hits in game one.

In game two, it was all Golden Bears as they rolled to the 18-4 win.  NYU-Poly was held scoreless until the last inning when they plated all four runs on five hits incluing an RBI double by freshmen Cesar Murillas (Fresh Meadows, NY).
