Apple alerted Amazon about a potential cloud security risk, prompting a change in AWS's data-deletion process


Amazon Web Services made changes after Apple alerted it about failing to delete data from some terminated cloud accounts, including nearly 2,000 pieces of Apple data. An internal AWS report recommended improvements to data deletion processes. Professor Justin Cappos said "it's a difficult problem" for cloud providers to fully delete customer data, calling it "a serious feature" they must provide.
