AI Readiness for Official Data and Statistics
Institute Associate Professor Julia Stoyanovich, Director of NYU's Center for Responsible AI, delivered a keynote at the UN Statistical Commission arguing that as AI systems increasingly mediate access to official data, governments must treat metadata as a dynamic, machine-readable artifact — not just documentation — to ensure statistics remain trustworthy and contextually intact.
