Qiaoyu Tan is a tenure-track assistant professor in the Computer Science Department at New York University Shanghai. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University in August 2023, supervised by Dr. Xia Hu.
He has published more than 20 papers in major data mining and machine learning conferences/journals, such as KDD, WWW, WSDM, ICDM, SIGIR, AAAI, IJCAI, NeurIPS, and TKDE. Notably, his research was awarded the Best Student Paper Finalist at AMIA’23.
Research Interests
Machine Learning and Data Mining, with a particular focus on Graph Machine Learning, Foundation Model, Multimodal Learning, and Applications in Bioinformatics and Healthcare.
