AI Across the Curriculum: A Tandon Forum

Conference / Symposium

For NYU Community

""

AI Across the Curriculum brings the Tandon community together to discuss how AI is changing engineering education and how we respond. The event marks the launch of Tandon’s AI Across the Curriculum initiative: a school-wide effort to build a human-centered infrastructure that first assesses what our faculty and students need and then addresses those needs.

The work has been participatory from the start. In Spring 2026, every Tandon department and program assessed how AI is affecting its courses and submitted a strategy, and a school-wide survey captured faculty experience and concerns. Over the summer, three faculty working groups, Policy, Survey, and Resources, turned what departments reported into shared instruments for the whole school. This fall, students joined the deliberation, and new AI courses reached the classroom.

On October 2, we share what has emerged so far, gather feedback from the Tandon community, and identify priorities for the work ahead. The Forum combines presentations, a student panel, and hands-on breakout sessions, and introduces Engineering Education in the Age of AI, a new faculty development course.
