Scischield is the research management system used for lab safety management and to give researchers access to their lab’s safety and compliance information and status. It provides the resources described below.
Training
Initial Lab Safety Training, Initial Hazardous Safety Training, Bloodborne Pathogen Training and other training depending on your work and exposure risks are assigned in Scichield. They are valid for 1 year and the annual refresher is taken through Scishield
ChemTracker
ChemTracker is a chemical database and platform designed to help researchers manage their chemical inventory and ensure safety compliance. It focuses on chemicals in the lab, allowing users to input the chemical name, location, quantities and expiration dates and provides the hazards and SDS for the chemicals. This maintains an organized and safe environment, ensuring chemicals are properly handled, stored, and disposed of according to regulations.
