Mission Statement
The mission of the NYU School of Engineering Office of Student Leadership & Engagement is to support the academic goals of the School by providing services and programs designed to enhance and maximize students’ co-curricular educational opportunities. All programs and services are designed and implemented with the aim of creating a rich educational environment, infused with the core values of: community engagement and civic responsibility; diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging; innovation and creative thinking; interpersonal and leadership development; and connection to the global university. The Office of Student Leadership & Engagement strives to increase student satisfaction in Brooklyn, assist in the retention of students leading to graduation, and provide opportunities for students to develop essential life skills.

Location & Hours
We are located in LC 221 and LC 223.
The office is open weekdays (Monday - Friday) from 9am-5pm throughout the academic year, except for university holidays.

- Cheyenne Sewell - ccs9424@nyu.edu
Cheyenne serves as a Graduate Assistant in the Office of Student Leadership & Engagement. Cheyenne received her BS in Anthropology from James Madison University and is currently pursuing her MPH in Public Health with a concentration in Community Health Science, and Practice from the School of Global Public Health, New York University. Cheyenne works with the WoMentorship Program, Tandon Sparks, and Peer Justice Zone as well as fourteen other student organizations here at Tandon. They include but are not limited to Alpha Omega Epsilon, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), Association for Computing Machinery for Women (ACM-W), Girls Who Code (GWC), Jewish Student Union (JSU), Muslim Students Association (MSA), and National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). Cheyenne enjoys going to the movies, taking dance classes, and eating really good food. Her favorite shows are currently Bridgerton and Emily in Paris.

Erik is a Graduate Assistant at Tandon's Office of Student Leadership and Engagement. Erik earned his Bachelor of Arts in History Education at California State University, Chico. He is a candidate for a Master of Arts in Higher Education Leadership and Student Affairs (HESA) at NYU Steinhardt. He supports several clubs on campus (AlChE, Chemists' Club, BFG, CMAA, CSC, NYWEA, IEEE Patent Pending, TGC, Tandon Navigators, SAMPE, SES and Theta Tau), advise & support Tandon Undergraduate Student Council (TUSC) with Funding, Chief of Staff, Programming, Community Outreach, Academic Success, and Marketing Branches, and work on our two of office program'(The Poly Project & Tandon Sparks). Erik has a passion for increasing accessibility as he serve as treasurer of NYU's Disability Student Union. On his days off, Erik writes young adult novels and enjoy traveling on the subway to explore the New York Life.

Vart is a Graduate Assistant in the Office of Student Leadership and Engagement. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the American University of Beirut, with a minor in Theater. Vart brings a wealth of experience in Student Affairs, where she has developed, enhanced, and managed a wide range of student clubs and organizations, as well as trained and supervised student employees. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, & Human Development. She advises and supports the Graduate Student Council (GSC), and the International Student Advisory Board (ISAB). She also provides support to thirteen student organizations: American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Applied Urban Science Association (AUSA), BioMedical Engineering Society(BMES), Chinese Scholars and Students Association (CSSA), Design for America NYU (DFA), Graduate Indian Student Association (GISA), Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE), Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), New York Machine Learning Club (NY-MLC), Poly Anime Society (PAS), Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Tandon Consulting Club (TCC), and Tau Belta Pi. Vart enjoys acting, dancing contemporary, salsa and bachata, working out at the gym, drinking coffee and traveling.
