Enrolled NYU Tandon Bridge Students
Congratulations and welcome to the NYU Tandon Bridge Program!
Bridge Course
The Bridge course is taught asynchronously and is self-paced. In the course, learners will be participating in interactive online modules, assignments, and exams. There are four exams throughout the course.
Time Commitment
The Bridge program is 100% online and self-paced. The total program time typically ranges from 480 to 560 hours, and learners have up to one year to complete all course requirements. It is recommended that learners dedicate about 20 hours per week to stay on track for completion within a year.
Grading
The Bridge course is letter-graded, and learners must earn a grade of C (70%) or better to pass the course and earn a certificate credential.
Grades are based on the four exams taken throughout the course. Course-specific grading details will be provided in the syllabus on the Brightspace course platform.
Exams
Exams are not cumulative and are based on topics and skills learned throughout the accompanying course section. Each of the four exams will have a time limit of two hours. Learners can take the exam at any time within the specified grading periods.
Exams will be unlocked and available when learners have completed the relevant modules for each exam. Exams must be completed via an online proctoring platform. Learners are given two attempts on each exam, but note that retaking an exam may push back the course completion date by six weeks due to exam grading periods.
Learners need to attempt each of the exams, but they do not have to pass the exams to continue in the course. However, learners must complete and pass all exams to earn a passing grade and certificate credential.
Bridge Exam Grading Periods
There will be several exam grading periods throughout the year, approximately every six weeks. Learners must complete their exam before the grading period deadline to have it evaluated within that grading period.
Course Completion and Access
Learners must earn a grade of C (70%) or better to pass the course and earn a certificate credential.
Learners have one year from the time of registration to complete the course and will maintain access to the course for that full year.
OnRamp Course
The course is taught asynchronously and is self-paced. In this course, learners will be participating in interactive online modules, reading assignments, coding problem sets, and/or quizzes.
Completion, Grading, and Course Access
Bridge OnRamp quizzes and coding problem sets are autograded. There is no completion credential for this course.
To complete the Bridge OnRamp course, learners should view all instructional videos and content and complete all reading assignments. Learners should also complete all coding problem sets or quizzes with a score of 70% or higher. A recommended score of 70% or higher indicates learners are ready for the Bridge program.
Learners have one year from the time of registration to complete the course and will maintain access to the course for that full year.
Withdrawals and Refunds
Withdrawals
When deciding to withdraw, learners should pay close attention to the refund policy and timelines.
Requests to withdraw from the Bridge or Bridge OnRamp courses can be made by completing the withdrawal form. Shortly after withdrawing, the learner will be removed from the course and lose access to the course site.
If the learner would like to retake the Bridge or Bridge OnRamp courses, they must reregister. In the case of withdrawals, prior progress will not be saved, and learners will need to start the course from the beginning.
Refunds
Learners are eligible for a 97% tuition refund if they withdraw from the course before accessing any course materials within the first two weeks after registering.
Learners are eligible for a 57% tuition refund if they withdraw from the course after accessing any course materials within the first two weeks after registering.
After the second week post-registration, learners are not eligible to receive any tuition refund.
Transaction fees incurred during registration are not refundable, and these are accounted for in the tuition refund percentages listed above.
