TechSHRM | NYU Tandon School of Engineering

Club Description

TechSHRM is NYU Tandon’s student chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management, focused on the intersection of technology, people analytics, HR innovation, and the future of work. In collaboration with the Department of Technology Management and Innovation, TechSHRM creates a platform for students to engage with industry leaders, researchers, and practitioners through speaker sessions, workshops, career focused events, and the annual Conference on Human Capital Innovation in Technology & Analytics. The club aims to bridge classroom learning with real world application, helping students explore how data, strategy, and leadership shape modern organizations.

Why Students Should Join

Students join TechSHRM to gain exposure beyond the classroom. Members benefit from:

  • Direct interaction with industry professionals across HR, consulting, tech, and analytics

  • Opportunities to organize and lead high impact events

  • Access to speaker sessions, resume reviews, and career guidance

  • Hands on experience in event management, partnerships, and professional communication

  • A collaborative community focused on career growth and leadership development

TechSHRM provides both professional development and a practical understanding of how people and technology intersect in today’s workplace.

Highlight

TechSHRM continues to expand its impact both on and off campus. In April 2026, we are hosting the 15th Annual Conference on Human Capital Innovation in Technology & Analytics, returning to an in person format and bringing together industry leaders, researchers, and students to explore emerging trends in people analytics and the future of work.

Over the past year, we have hosted multiple high impact speaker sessions featuring leaders from organizations such as Warner Bros. Discovery and LinkedIn, providing students with direct insight into hiring strategies, HR innovation, and data driven workforce decision making. TechSHRM members also attended the Wharton People Analytics Conference, engaging with global experts and expanding cross university connections, and we are preparing to attend again this year.

In recognition of our programming excellence and student engagement, TechSHRM was honored as the 2025 NYU Tandon Student Organization of the Year and received SHRM’s Superior Merit Award, reflecting both university level and national recognition of our chapter’s impact.
