Global Challenge: Accessibility in Healthcare with Emerging Media

Bio:

I’m currently an Integrated Design & Media (IDM) major graduating in 2027. I chose IDM and continue to pursue it because of its interdisciplinary, versatile, and expansive nature. You get to explore technical equipment, software, and skills in the most creative ways. For example, I was able to channel my emerging media skills into a healthcare research position during the summer of 2024 by designing experience sampling tools for multiple sclerosis patients. There are just so many ways I can contribute to the world with design-oriented thinking and human-computer interaction skills.

I was born and raised in New York City, so I’ve come to appreciate the global and cultural diversity here. However, joining GLASS means expanding my horizons and perspectives even more. In high school, I spent a lot of my time directing set design for theater and exploring advanced computer science classes. I also like to crochet clothes, stuffed animals, and gifts for friends. These days, if you step inside Tandon’s MakerSpace, you’ll find me trying to fix the 3D printers, giving trainings to patrons, and working on our internal software systems. Feel free to reach out or say hi if you ever see me!
