Global Challenge: Data Science/AI/Robotics
The GLASS program gives me the opportunity to make new friends, maybe even life long friends, and create a network for my career development through cohort building activities and service projects.
Bio:
I was born in Shanghai, China, but moved to Melbourne, Australia when I was 12. In high school, I volunteered to work in a local charity Sacred Heart’s op shop. I also participated in a non-profit organization Quarantine Coder which provides programming lessons and donates the earnings to charities. I am currently an undergraduate student at New York University majoring in Computer Science. I am interested in the field of robotics, and this lead me to join NYU’s RoboSub VIP team that built an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle to participate in the RoboSub competition. I am a member of the Intelligence steam in the RoboSub team and I have worked on creating the state diagram for the robot, training computer vision models, and writing the code for controlling the thrusters. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, especially novels and history books, as well as playing with my dog, Cookie.
