Global Challenge: Treat and cure climate change related illnesses

Bio:

I am a rising sophomore at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I am Albanian American and have lived in both countries throughout my life, where Tirana and New York have been my two homes.

At Tandon, I am a member of the Concrete Canoe VIP and Undergraduate Summer Research Program (UGSRP). All of which have provided me the opportunity to interact with individuals from an array of different fields and disciplines, where the merging of our ideas and backgrounds have had a transformative impact on my academic and personal development.

This summer I had the opportunity to build upon the work completed in my Sustainability writing course during my freshman spring, where I interned at a startup called Common Good Sustainability. Through the Project Manager role, I was able to familiarize myself with various local laws, like Local Law 97 and Article 321, where my responsibility included to ensure that buildings over 25,000 square feet contained carbon emission levels in compliance to legislation in order to promote a more sustainable and environmental-friendly future.

Fun facts about me include that I am the oldest child in my family, I play the guitar, and that I am 6’8’’. Outside of the classroom, you can find me going to the gym, exploring different parts of NYC, and spending time with family and friends.
