Global Challenge: Sustainable power accessibility in underprivileged countries

Bio:

I am a rising sophomore studying Electrical Engineering, looking to specialize in Wireless Communications. I am a first-generation Bangladeshi-American who was born and raised on Long Island, New York. However, I've always known I wanted to be in the city for my higher education because of the culture, the diverse perspectives, and the bountiful opportunities.

Within Tandon, I am part of the Society of Women Engineers and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers chapters. I value surrounding myself with diverse individuals that have had similar experiences and interests in order to learn from and grow with them. Outside of Tandon, I recently worked as an Assistant Team Advisor in the Engineering program for the National Student Leadership Conference at University of California--Berkeley, where I aided high school students in exploring and engaging in the different engineering disciplines. This opportunity enhanced my ability to mentor and foster positive academic environments.

Additionally, this upcoming semester, I will be an Undergraduate Orientation Leader and Peer Mentor for the incoming class. I am looking forward to guiding Tandon's next generation to take full advantage of the resources that our school provides.

When I get free time, I enjoy outdoor activities, eating out, and trying out new games on my PlayStation 5.
