Global Challenge: Health

I aim to use programming / artificial intelligence to analyze and categorize disease-causing genes through a genetic test or a biomarker.

Bio:

I was born in Dalaman and raised in Istanbul, Turkey. I’m in the pre-health track and I’m majoring in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. In such a dynamic era, what fascinates me as a woman in science is regenerative medicine as I firmly believe that the pluripotent stem cell technology will revolutionize the treatment of chronic diseases that cannot be treated naturally. In the genetic lab, where I worked as an intern, I assisted the team in extracting the DNA and writing pathology reports. I observed the lab owner manage relations with prominent hospitals in Istanbul. This summer, I joined a research team in the Koc University Hospital to investigate the effect of follicular fluid on the oocyte quality. In my free time, I really enjoy traveling and playing basketball with my twin brothers. Also, seeing the northern lights is on top of my bucket list.
