Global Challenge: Health
Bio:
Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, I am a sophomore studying chemical and biomolecular engineering at NYU Tandon School of Engineering. I am passionate about improving community well being and am interested in biotechnology. Even though I was born and raised in the Bay Area I come from a small town where I actively engage within my community and have managed several team projects focusing on suicide prevention, drug overdose awareness, and a grassroots campaign on restrictive covenants.
At NYU I’ve joined the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE). Within chemical and biomolecular engineering, I hope to not only explore aspects such as health and sustainability but to also make a meaningful impact on society by engineering for humanity. I have previously done work with the American Civil Liberties Union of Northern California (ACLU) which has furthered my commitment to social responsibility.
Outside of school, you can catch me reading, trying new foods, and scouring local thrift shops and flea markets for a hidden find. I have also been a dancer for over 10 years now and have hyperextended elbows and double-jointed thumbs!
