Associate Director, Lab Operations
Dr. Hillary Hua has over twenty years of professional experience. She has extensive experience in research, teaching, laboratory design, fit out, set up and supervision. In her role of Associate Director of Laboratory Operations, she ensures the success of NYU Tandon's research mission, laboratory safety, compliance and overall institutional goals across the school's areas of research excellence. She oversees all aspects of day-to-day operations of Tandon's research and teaching laboratories.
Prior to Tandon, Dr. Hua served as the founding Director of Laboratories for NYU Shanghai, where she planned and supervised creation of all undergraduate science and engineering laboratories for the new NYU Shanghai campus, supervised the operations of the laboratories, and set up and managed the safety program for undergraduate laboratories. Before that, she was the Director of Undergraduate Laboratories for the Chemistry Department of Stanford University and supervised daily operations, maintenance and upgrade of teaching laboratories. She also had ten years experience of teaching college chemistry courses that included seven years at the Chemistry Department of Stanford University as a lecturer and three years at Siena College as an Assistant Professor, along with about ten years experience of research, both in academia and industry.
