NYU Alumni Weekend in Florida: Faculty Presentation and Reception in Boca Raton

NYU alumni, parents, family, and friends are cordially invited to the NYU Alumni Association’s annual faculty presentation in South Florida! Dr. Nasir Memon, Associate Dean for Online Learning and Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at NYU's Tandon School of Engineering, will discuss the alarming developments in fake media technology using AI and specifically DeepFakes which can make it look as if anyone has said or done anything. He will share exciting technology developed at NYU and elsewhere that may help combat this alarming attack on the very notion of what is true if images and videos cannot be believed anymore.

Complimentary appetizers, beer, and wine will be served. Valet parking will be provided. Business casual attire is recommended.

​About the Speaker
Nasir Memon is a professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at NYU Tandon.  He is an affiliate faculty at the computer science department in the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at NYU. His research interests include data compression, biometrics, security and human behavior, computer and network security and multimedia security and forensics.
