    Eligibility

Commencement 2020 is open to all September 2019 and January 2020 graduates and May 2020 candidates only. Students must first apply for their degree through the Registrar's Office. The Registrar's Spring 2020 degree application deadline is February 23, 2020.

Dean’s Exceptions: Candidates for graduation who have up to two outstanding courses required to complete their degree may petition their school’s Dean for eligibility to participate in Commencement. All outstanding courses must be completed by the end of the summer immediately following graduation. Students with extenuating circumstances (for example, international students whose visas expire or who are subject to travel restrictions) will have their situations reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Students must apply by Tuesday, April 7 and will be notified if they have been approved or declined prior to the attire ordering deadline (April 14, 2020). To request an exception, please fill out the Dean’s Exception Form

Please note: CUSP students should contact Sattik Deb (sd144@nyu.edu) to apply for a Dean's Exception.

For more information on eligibility, including the Dean's Exception, please refer to the NYU Commencement Eligibility Policy. PLEASE NOTE: Ph.D. candidates are not eligible for Dean's Exception.

What’s Your Vision? Submit a Video

Commencement is the culmination of years of hard work and sacrifice on your part, as well as on the part of your families, and while in-person festivities are on hold right now, we still want to celebrate you and your accomplishments.

We want to hear from you! Now’s your chance to submit a video that we’ll feature on social media, the Tandon website, and other digital locations.

Each of you has a distinct vision for your future. Tell us about it and how NYU Tandon has helped you shape that future!

    Guidelines:

    • Your video can be up to one minute long.
    • Speak in front of the camera or do a photo slideshow with a voiceover. Get creative!
    • Send a link to download your video file (.mp4 or .mov) to engineering.marcomm@nyu.edu by April 30.
