Cardiac Cath Lab

Project Type:
Business Model/Process Improvement
Project Sponsor:

NYC-based Hospital

The volume of cardiac catheterizations has doubled in the past 3 years at a New York-based hospital. Although the number of rooms have been identified as a major bottleneck and is in the process of being addressed, there are likely other bottlenecks that can be identified and improved which would help with the workflow of the hospital's Cardiac Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab) to improve throughput. The project would include a “time-flow analysis” of the patient experience in the hospital Cath Lab to identify the constraints and bottlenecks.
