Project Type:
Social Impact
Project Sponsor:

Telecommunications

In this project, students worked with a major telecommunications company to evaluate the potential for 5G technology to make “the future of work” more accessible to workers with disabilities. Their methodology included broad research on disability types and their corresponding issues in terms of employment and an analysis of 5G as a catalyst for assistive technologies such as remotely controlled trucks or robots. Students selected the types of disabilities most suitable to 5G-based assistive technologies and conducted in-depth interviews that helped develop primary personas.
