I find the field of urban science fascinating because it has the potential to reveal insights into complex social phenomena in cities, including patterns of criminality and gun violence. By leveraging sophisticated analytical techniques and powerful computational tools, urban science enables researchers to analyze vast and intricate datasets, thus identifying patterns and trends that may be difficult to discern using conventional methods. In my opinion, this interdisciplinary field holds great promise for advancing our understanding of urban environments and addressing critical issues facing cities today.
