Dates & Deadlines
- October 22 - 12pm : Launch event
- January 29: Submit abstract. Link to be available on 1/19 on the main challenge page
- February 5: Six finalists will be announced
- March 2: Finalist submissions due
- March 4: Live pitch event to judging panel and award announced
Criteria
- At least 2 faculty members must make up each team — one from Rusk and one from Tandon
- Additional student team members are allowed
- Above graduate level participation
Submission requirements
Abstract submission and judging criteria
- Up to 500 words abstract. Must at least answer the following:
- Outline of the specific problem being solved
- Solution to the problem
- Novelty of the approach
- Impact of the invention at scale
- Support the team needs to bring the product or service to market
Finalist submission and judging criteria
- 2 page executive summary refined after market validation including the abstract submission criteria along with:
- Market and market size for the product or service
- Signed LOIs, partnership agreements or email confirmation or an intention to sign such an agreement with a potential partner, client, or similar
Awards
Two $10,000 grants
Each winning team will also receive:
- No cost company formation costs from Orrick LLP
- Hosting from AWS, Google Cloud, and others available at no cost
- Student intern stipend for Spring semester
- Access to NYC startup and mentor ecosystem
- Additional support from Future Labs
