Opinion: The 5G Snafu Was Avoidable

Recently, AT&T and Verizon said they would scale back the scheduled debut of the new 5G cellular service near airports, due to concerns that the technology would hinder the airplane equipment. Rappaport argues that concerns should be tempered because the solution is relatively straightforward. "This is a very very easily solved technicality," said Rappaport, as there are protections like the FCC's guard bands already in place.
