If you need something to get your Maker Faire juices flowing, Hackaday NYC is hosting a discussion and demo later this month at Kickstarter’s HQ in Greenpoint. The talk will feature Anita Perr and R. Luke Dubois of the NYU Ability Project [and professor of Integrated Digital Media at NYU Tandon School of Engineering] , and Andrew Chepaitis, of ELIA Life Technology. It will also feature a demonstration by the very cool startup WearWorks, which just graduated from Urban-X’s program. WearWorks makes a wearable device, the Wayband, that assists people with vision impairments in walking around the city, by sending different buzzes to the device, worn on the wrist.
