Ahmed Ansari's research interests are broad and diverse, with his research writing intersecting between design studies and history, the philosophy of technology, and critical cultural studies, with a focus on issues of decolonisation and design theory and contexts from, of and for the Global South.

With a formal background in visual, user experience, and game design, and interests in designing educational experiences, his design projects have ranged from the design of digital platforms to encourage public participation and engagement with science, to designing digital archives that capture interdisciplinary collaborations between scientists, humanists, and artists, to developing a visual novel for NYU Tandon's IDBE initiative to help teach undergraduates about navigating the politics of difference on campus.

Dr. Ansari has a doctorate in Design Studies and a masters in Interaction Design from Carnegie Mellon University.

Ahmed Ansari received his doctorate in Design Studies and masters in Interaction Design at Carnegie Mellon University. His research interests intersect between design studies, critical cultural studies, and the philosophy and history of technology, with an area focus on the Indian subcontinent. He is also a founding member of the Decolonizing Design Platform. He has previously taught studio courses in interaction, speculative,  and game design, and seminar courses in media studies, the philosophy of technology, and critical cultural studies.

Research Interests: Design studies, critical cultural studies, and the philosophy and history of technology.
