Generative AI for Creative Strategy is designed for professionals whose work has a creative dimension—whether learners work in advertising, branding, fashion, publishing, media, startups, product development, account leadership, or another field where new ideas are made.
This course is about using a capable language model to extend how learners already think and work. Learners will use the model to explore more possibilities, challenge assumptions, test ideas quickly, and improve learner decisions. It is not a survey of AI tools or a course about accepting the model’s first answer.
By the end of the course, learners will be able to:
- Interpret a client brief, challenge its assumptions, and turn it into an actionable working challenge.
- Use text and image generation to explore expected, unexpected, and deliberately unconventional possibilities.
- Investigate audiences, alternatives, and opportunities using current, traceable evidence and lightweight analysis.
- Translate strategy into a coherent product, brand, visual system, and story.
- Critique, verify, and revise model-assisted work while keeping learner professional judgment visible.
- Assemble and defend a persuasive agency pitch that includes a required spec video advertisement.
Led by industry expert Nick Katsivelos with decades of experience in creative technology, design, strategy, and innovation, this intensive program is tailored for professionals in creative fields, including fashion, publishing, branding, media, startups, and other settings where new ideas, products, stories, brands, or experiences are made.
- The course will be fully asynchronous. All course presentations will be recorded and available to watch on the course site.
- Each unit will include assignments and deliverables. These are expected to be submitted via Brightspace.
- Learners will engage with the course content and participate in activities through NYU CE Brightspace.
- Each week, learners will have an opportunity to connect synchronously through virtual office hours. This is an opportunity for learners to ask questions and gain clarification about the course content from the instructor and peers. Attendance is not required. Learners have 3 months to complete course content from registration
