New Online Student Experience
Getting started with Digital Learning!
Congratulations and welcome to the next chapter of your academic and professional journey with Digital Learning at NYU Tandon!
Online Student Hub
Starting your graduate degree is an exciting milestone. To help you transition into your online degree, we’ve designed an engaging new student experience.
Upon accepting your admission, you will begin receiving communications that will guide you through the steps necessary to begin your first semester. Along with the email communications, you will gain access to additional resources and opportunities to prepare for the start of your graduate education with Digital Learning at NYU Tandon.
Online Student Orientation
Our asynchronous, Online Student Orientation can be found on the Online Student Hub in NYU Brightspace. This self-paced orientation module is your comprehensive guide to the Digital Learning experience. You’ll gain insights into academic and support resources available, learn how to navigate essential tools, and the opportunities available to create the most impactful experience. Completion of this orientation is required to unlock access to the rest of the Online Student Hub, including accessing your academic advisor.
Access Asynchronous Orientation
You will gain access to the orientation approximately 3-5 days after paying your deposit and accepting your admission.
New Student Advising Session
REQUIRED
Before registering for your first semester, you’ll be required to meet with your academic advisor during a New Student Advising Session. You can expect an email from your academic advisor with information on how to schedule this session. Learn more about academic advising.
Connect with a Digital Learning Ambassador
REQUIRED
Our Digital Learning Ambassadors are current Digital Learning students, who are available to help you transition into graduate studies. You’ll get to meet your assigned Ambassador via an email introduction and will have opportunities to connect with them at various times up through the early part of your first semester.
In the meantime, feel free to schedule a call with a Digital Learning Ambassador to learn more about the Digital Learning student experience.
Launchpad to Success
REQUIRED
Join us for our exclusive kickoff event – Launchpad to Success. This synchronous, virtual event is an immersive session, empowering you to approach your graduate program with purpose and enthusiasm. Helping you to connect the dots between your academic goals and the practical technical expertise and essential interpersonal skills required to advance your career.
As this event is REQUIRED, we expect you to make yourself fully available to attend this experience. Please coordinate your schedule accordingly as it does take place during regular business hours for most of our working professional students.
New Graduate Student Orientation
OPTIONAL
Held in person the week before each semester begins, New Graduate Student Orientation (NGSO) is designed primarily for students who will be attending NYU Tandon on campus. While participation is entirely optional for Digital Learning students, you are more than welcome to attend if you'd like to engage with the broader NYU Tandon community.
