Abstract

Abrahm Lustgarten, author of “In On the Move: The Overheating Earth and the Uprooting of America,” shows that in the coming decades it's likely tens of millions of the US population will relocate to escape rising seas, punishing heat, floods and wildfires due to global warming. Using climate forecast models can we predict what this will mean in terms of South-to-North and rural-to-urban migration? Which cities are most likely to be ready (housing, water, energy, jobs) and which are not?
