Abstract
Racial disparities are a persistent concern in the US criminal justice system. Many recent efforts aim to reform practices, such as traffic stops, that show significant disparities by race. Connecticut is a leader in legislating and implementing traffic-stop reforms, serving as a model for other states to adopt. It mandates the collection and public disclosure of traffic-stop data and limits the bases for law-enforcement agencies to make stops. In this project, we seek to study disparities in traffic stops in Connecticut.
