Who said Start-Up NY isn't working? Not this NYC health care startup


Dan Lambert's business inspiration came from watching his dad, a cardiologist, go through the difficult process of recertification. His idea: break up the exam, collect information from top medical schools like Harvard and Yale, and then sell it back to hospitals and doctors.

He teamed up with Dr. Andrea Paul, a former resident at Yale medical school and Mt. Sinai Hospital, to launch Board Vitals. The company creates online tools to prepare doctors, dentists and nurses to take specialty exams. It is backed by Blueprint Health and Rothenberg Ventures, and last year won the Gust Catapult NYC startup contest.
