Where in the world is Stephen Arnold?
Potts-Othmer Senior Fellow and University Professor Stephen Arnold has been very busy lately, educating audiences in three countries.
Upon invitation by the Royal Society, he gave a lecture at the Faraday Discussions in Bristol, England on July 2, titled “MicroParticle PhotoPhysics Illuminates Viral Bio-sensing.” The previous week found him in Erice, Italy, at the International School for Atomic and Molecular Spectroscopy, where he spoke on “The Spectroscopy of Photonic Atoms: Sensing the Enemy Within.” Earlier that month, home at Poly, he gave a presentation on “Label-free Biological Detection using Whispering Gallery Mode Bio-sensors” at the American Chemical Society’s International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry meeting.
