US varsity visitor at DTU for collaboration talks


The Delhi Technological University (DTU) campus recently had the president of the Polytechnic Institute of New York University (NYU Poly), the United States, Jerry Mac Arthur Hultin as its visitor.

Hultin is in India in order to interact with the spokespersons of selected institutes from academia, government and corporate sectors. He seeks a reciprocated advantage to both the countries in terms of a better understanding of India's educational requirements and exploration of opportunities in academic and research arena.

Accompanied by Meera Kumar, vice-president, Communications and Marketing, NYU Poly, the chief recently met the officiating vice-chancellor of DTU, Prof. B.D. Pathak along with Prof. R.K. Sinha, dean, Industrial, Research Development among others.

Prof. Pathak had a talk with Hultin upon the terms to collaborate researches held in both the universities with a faculty and student exchange program where they stand a chance to study one semester abroad.

The nascent stage talks also included an option to offer dual degrees by both the universities where students spend two years of study in their home country and the remaining two at the collaborating institute.

Hultin, upon being asked about his choice for his visit to DTU, he said, "the university enjoys an immense reputation of a being an upgraded one."
