Uptane Will Protect Your Connected Car From Hackers


Today's vehicles are highly computerized and increasingly connected. That means they're at greater and greater risk of being compromised by hackers. 

We've already seen several proof-of-concept attacks against connected vehicles, like the one that caused a Jeep Cherokee to veer into a ditch. Fortunately, a team of academics and industry experts have been working with the Department of Homeland Security to protect our vehicles from cyberattacks.

New York University's Tandon School of Engineering, the Southwest Research Institute, and the University of Michigan Transport Research Institute are working on a more modern, secure method for sending updates to vehicles.
