United Nations Requests Professor Juran's Participation in Middle East Peace Seminar

Professor Ilan Juran of the Department of Civil Engineering will be serving on a panel at an International Media Seminar on Peace in the Middle East organized by the United Nations Department of Public Information. The seminar is being arranged in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and will be held in Moscow on June 8 and 9, 2006. The theme of the event is “New Challenges in the Middle East Peace Process and Israeli-Palestinian Dialogue.” Professor Juran will be participating in the panel discussion entitled “The Challenge of Local Capacity Building – Inter-Community Cooperation in Educational, Scientific, and Professional Training Initiatives – Perspectives, Partnerships and Implementation Strategies.” Over one hundred participants, including policymakers, members of civil society, senior UN officials, international media experts, eminent personalities, and other representatives of the academic community from all over the world will be joining Professor Juran at this important gathering.
