Startup Guru Steve Blank Tells NYU Grads to Break Rules, Count Days


Steve Blank, the tech entrepreneur and native New Yorker who launched the Lean Startup movement, told NYU engineering school graduates at a commencement address this morning to break the rules and be aware that their days are limited.

Blank, a Vietnam veteran, has gone from Silicon Valley entrepreneur to educator and is currently teaching a Stanford University class called “Hacking for Defense,” aiming to teach college students how to take on national security issues in a class he and his cofounders plan to roll out nationally.
