Self-driving vehicles may soon be tested at an airport near you


… The idea dates back to at least 2009, when Kaan Ozbay, [professor of civil and urban engineering and director of C2SMART [at NYU Tandon] then a Rutgers University professor, wrote a paper on the topic. In an interview, he said the technology makes sense today in “more controlled, less challenging environments,” like the Lincoln Tunnel or a circumscribed application at a Port Authority facility.
