If you’ve ever spent a good 10 minutes analyzing every possible route to walk back home when you’re out late at night (and even sometimes in plain daylight) then you know just how irritating it is for women and femmes to stay safe, especially if you’re alone. … In light of this struggle a team of four students at NYU’s Tandon School of Engineering proposed a solution: … [the] app, safer-together, connects women and femmes with other companions that share similar commute plans for both public transit and car services. … The team consist of 4 co-founders: Aida Mehovic, Brittany Kendrick, Camila Morocho, and Emily Muggleton.
