Professor Gross Inducted into the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering

Professor Gross of the Department of Chemical and Biological Sciences was admitted to the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE). This honor reflects Gross’s exceptional record of individual achievement in research, development, education, public service, and technological leadership as it relates to medical and biological engineering. Gross conducts research on developing environmentally friendly processes and polymer products and is currently director of the nation’s first Center for Biocatalysis and Bioprocessing of Macromolecules established at Polytechnic University in 2000.

Founded in 1991, AIMBE has earned a reputation as a prestigious public institute that is a leader on scientific and policy issues impacting the medical and biological community. AIMBE is regarded by key legislators as the preeminent voice on the field of medical and biological engineering. Its membership is unique in that it is comprised of individuals, industries, academic institutions, and technical societies united in their vision of sustaining the growth and viability of the bioengineering discipline.

Professor Gross will be officially inducted into the Institute on Thursday March 1, 2007 at the National Academies of Science in Washington, DC.
