Professor Griffis to serve on policy committee of national civil engineering society

Fletcher H. (Bud) Griffis has been appointed to the National Infrastructure and Research Policy Committee of the American Society of Civil Engineers for a one-year term beginning on Nov. 3.

Griffis, head of the department of civil engineering and director of Poly’s Center for Construction Management Technology, was appointed by the ASCE’s incoming president, David Mongan, based on his knowledge and experience with infrastructure and research, as well as his years of service to the Society.

The committee on which Griffis will serve is responsible for developing and maintaining the ASCE’s policy statements on issues of national infrastructure and research.
