Poly President Testifies on Port Security

President Jerry M. Hultin joined legislators, law enforcement authorities and local business and government leaders in testifying before a New York State Senate Task Force on Port Security on April 19, 2006. The task force, chaired by Senator Frank Padavan (Queens), a Poly alum Class of '55, was created to ensure the safety and security of New York ports. President Hultin noted that communications and management are essential to the security of our ports. “No one organization is in charge,” he said, “there are at least 39 agencies with a role in port security.” Hultin advised the task force that network-centric practices are tested and more effective.
