NYU-Poly falls in opener to Yeshiva
New York, NY - Yeshiva and NYU-Poly kicked off the Skyline Conference women's tennis last night and when the last point was recorded it was the Macabees who prevailed, beating NYU-Poly 7-2.
Stephanie Weldon (Westchester, NY) won the lone singles match at second singles in a tiebreaker third set. After losing 4-6 in set one, she came back to win 7-6 (12-10) in the second. In the third, Weldon had enough left to win 10-7 for her first win of the season. The other Blue Jay win came in first doubles as Weldon and Ariel Zeig (Rockland County, NY) were victorious 8-4.
NYU-Poly (0-1, Skyline 0-1) will be back in action Sunday against Medgar Evers College.
