NYU Offers Girls Free Computer Science Program


Dozens of girls are going GEEK.

The GenCyber Computer Science for Cyber Security, or GenCyber for short, is a free three-week summer program that teaches high school girls about computer science. This is the fourth year the program has been running at New York University [NYU Tandon School of Engineering]. 

Instructors say this is the most popular year yet, with over 200 applications for just a few dozen spots. Anna Ganguly, a 15-year-old student from Kensington, wants to be a cybersecurity expert.
